Dr. Fergal O’Connor is Associate Professor of Finance in the University of York, UK. Previous to this he lectured in economics and finance in University College Cork (Ireland) and the University of Central Lancashire (UK). His area of research is the financial economics of metals and mining, with a particular emphasis on the precious metals market. His previous research has looked at the drivers of gold prices on the London market as well as bubbles in the gold price. He has contributed to programmes discussing gold on the BBC and is a regular contributor to industry magazines. He was the London Bullion Market Associations bursary holder from 2011-2015. He is also a special issue editor for the International Review of Financial Analysis.
